Bio

Neha Kohli quit her job of being an accountant to pursue her dreams of…not being an accountant (read: screenwriter, actor, producer). She’s based in Toronto, Canada and dreams to one day cement her hands on Hollywood Blvd.

Her original half hour comedy-drama, The Magnificents, about an immigrant family who happen to be superheroes, is currently in development with WildBrain. Additionally, she is also the co-creator of a half hour comedy-drama that is currently being executive produced by Sameer Gardezi (Modern Family, Hot Mess Holiday). She is currently writing for shows in development and production by companies like Shaftesbury, BBC Kids, Epic Story Media, WildBrain, Fresh TV and Cartoon Network. Neha is beyond pumped to be currently story editing the upcoming reboot of Total Drama Island (and may very well be writing the finale – hit her up for spoilers – kidding, she’s under an NDA).

Neha regularly performs improv and sketch comedy on stage in Toronto (at least before the pandemic, ugh). She loves it so much that she became the co-producer of Mirchi Comedy (formerly Yas Kween), the oldest live variety comedy night featuring women of colour in Toronto. She’s also performed in the comedy improv troupes “The Kweendom” and “She’s All That”. Neha co-wrote and co-starred in the critically acclaimed 2019 Toronto Fringe Show Woke ‘N Broke.

Lastly, if you’ve made it this far (congrats! Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a prize at this time), you’ll remember Neha’s also an actor. She’s appeared in commercials for OLG Lottery, Trident, Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, Twizzlers, Bank of Montreal, TD Bank and McDonalds. In case you missed her in those, she’ll be playing the lead in the original half hour comedy-drama created and written by none other than herself!
